Live Music

Entertainment has always been part of hospitality around here. Pickers, fiddlers, and string bands roll through every week, and the smoker never stops.

first time at a jam?

Here's how it works.

Musicians circle up, someone calls a tune, and everybody plays along. All levels welcome, listeners too. The kitchen runs the whole time, so order a plate of ribs and settle in. If you're picking, come a little early to claim a chair.

Who rolls through

A few of the acts that have played the smokehouse lately. The week's lineup always lands on Instagram first.

  • Poor Howard Stith

Piedmont blues & ragtime guitar, a one-man front porch.

  • Jerry Short & Jon Ross

Sunday-afternoon acoustic duo. Perfect with a pint of collards.

  • Joe Pete 3'n1

Three instruments, one man, zero warning.

  • Ruth & Ben Stringband

Old-time string band tunes to close out the weekend.

  • Sad Bastards / Loose Standards

Double bill. Exactly what it sounds like, in the best way.
